Outstanding Dog Guest post!

Here's a guest post from Rachel over at Midnight Culmination, in which she and her ex-husband are saved from incineration by their outstanding dogs!

On the way back to the house we were staying at, we realized we had left our T-shirts back at the beach, so me and Ex grabbed the pups (chow - Lucy; GS - Zeus) from the vacation house - which was awesome, btw - and we all four of us started walking the half-mile or so back to the beach. Kamal had Zeus on a leash, and I had Lucy. All of a sudden, Lucy started yanking me and howling!!

I had no idea what was going on but she was tearing into a run. Zeus looked back at her, and immediately let out his siren call (the same one he'd do when the alarm would go off accidentally in the house) and bolted. Me and Kamal were like, WTF? and ended up kinda dragged behind them for a second. We got about fifty feet down the road, when POWPOWPOWPOW!!!! The electric box on the telephone pole directly over where we were exploded, sent a shower of sparks into the air and down onto the grass below, so that the grass started smoldering and the box caught on fire up in the air!

If Lucy hadn't have freaked like that, we would have been directly underneath it as it exploded! She saved the day! Hooray, Lucy! They both got insane amounts of pets and kisses and treats and couch privileges once we got back to the vacation house!
